Alkon is the author of the science-based and very funny book, "I See Rude People: One woman’s battle to beat some manners into impolite society." Alkon recognizes that the manners questions of our age aren't where to put the doily or whether the man should walk on the outside, but what you do when some rudester is shouting into cell phone in line behind you at the drugstore.
She uses anthropology and behavioral economics to show why people today are so rude and offers substantive (and often hilarious) ways we can all fight back against all the rude people who try to shove us around daily.
