History of DARPA

About the show

In the first half, executive Editor at Foreign Policy, Sharon Weinberger discussed the history of DARPA, an agency that has been responsible for countless inventions and technologies that extend well beyond military applications. DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency), she explained, was created in 1958 as a direct response to the Soviet Union's launch of their Sputnik satellite. Before NASA, DARPA consolidated America's space and rocket programs under one banner, while trying to stay ahead of its adversaries. Arguably DARPA's greatest legacy is the Internet, she noted, which can be considered an outgrowth of their ARPANET, a 1960s computer network that tracked nuclear weapons.

Since its early days, DARPA has been involved in many futuristic projects, she reported, such as trying to create a force field around the Earth to stop intercontinental missiles. About a third of the agency's projects are classified, such as stealth aircraft in the 1970s, or black programs that we may never find out about. A lot of the classified work DARPA did was during the Viet Nam war which they were heavily involved in, said Weinberger-- this period saw the origins of drone warfare, stealth aircraft, and military computer applications. She revealed that a current focus of the agency is in hypersonics-- vehicles, missiles, and aircraft that can travel over Mach 4 (four times the speed of sound).

Megalithic Structures & Codes

A development engineer with degrees in systems science and computer-aided design, Richard Heath is also an expert in megalithic astronomy. Appearing during the third hour, he suggested that ancient civilizations had a sophisticated understanding of astronomy and they encoded their secret knowledge of the skies within mythology, music, monuments, and units of sacred measure. Some ancient structures used a kind of calendar formula, he noted, where one day equaled one inch.

Venus & Emerald Tablets

In the last hour, anomaly hunter Billy Carson talked about curious discoveries on Venus, and the history of the "Emerald Tablets," authored, he said, by the ancient Atlantean Priest-King, Thoth. The text refers to a great flood, and waters receding, as well as Thoth's landing of a flying ship, and stopping barbarians with a kind of high-tech stun gun, Carson detailed. Some of the material relates a similar scenario as Zecharia Sitchin has recounted about the Anunnaki, but Carson believes the Emerald Tablets predate the cuneiform Sitchin translated.
