Election Tricks/ Native American UFO Stories

About the show

After two decades as a top investigator of corporate fraud, Greg Palast directed the U.S. government’s largest racketeering case in history–winning a $4.3 billion jury award and he also conducted the investigation of fraud charges in the Exxon Valdez grounding. Now working as an investigative journalist, he joined George in the first half of the the program to discuss the dirty tricks being used by both parties to sway the outcomes of elections. In 2000, Palast uncovered the fact that 56,000 voters were illegally removed from the rolls by Governor Jeb Bush and Secretary of State Katherine Harris in Florida during the presidential election. Palast described the ever more sophisticated methods used by both parties to sway elections. Asked who would win the next election, Palast said, "the billionaires."

Palast related that he was asked to endorse a Swiss company’s voting machines that were claimed to be hack-proof. He said no American election commission would buy their system precisely for this reason - Palast believes that they actually want easily hackable vote-counting systems because election fraud is considered the norm. He stated that Trump does not have enough personal wealth to finance his own campaign and is beholden to billionaires, no matter what his campaign wants the public to believe. He then revealed that Hillary Clinton arranged for the President of oil-rich Kazakhstan to be left off the records of an indictment. The politician then paid Bill Clinton $500,000 for a single speaking date. In spite of the tricks and fraud, Palast believes that people still need to vote because he says "they can’t steal all the votes all of the time."

In the second half, Dr. Ardy Sixkiller Clarke, joined the program. A Professor Emeritus at Montana State University, who has worked with indigenous populations and spent seven years traveling through Belize, Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico, collecting stories of encounters, sky gods, giants, little people, and aliens, she conducted nearly 100 individual interviews of people whose experiences have not been influenced by movies, TV or hoaxers. Her new book details the UFO stories of American Indians who live off the reservation, or "Urban Indians" as Clarke said. The stories she has heard range from a Native American man who told her that he regularly "travels the universal highway," to one man who watched in amazement as a UFO lifted off a highway at night, only to find an apparently mutilated cow in a field nearby, to stories of abduction and hybrid children.

A one half-white, half-Navajo mechanic, who fixed Clarke’s car, told her of a camping trip where "the stars went out" because they were blocked by a massive UFO and then he saw smaller craft the next day that appeared to be collecting samples from an abandoned copper mine. In a similar way to stories of fairies, some Native Americans have even told her that they have been carried off and forcibly married to alien beings, then told that they will die if they try to return to this world. As for the source of these encounters, Clarke believes that there is "a super intelligence in the universe" who are far more advanced than us, and added that she thinks everyone she interviewed told her the truth as they believed it.
