Falling Dreams

About the show

Broadcasting live from the WNIS studio in Norfolk, Virginia, George hosted an evening of Open Lines. Several callers phoned in at George's request to share their dreams about falling (and hitting the ground).

John from San Antonio recalled a dream in which his father fell from the Hoover Dam. John said he dove after him and as they hit the bottom both turned into golden crosses. Jason in Calgary, Alberta, Canada said he has recurring dreams about his neighbors jumping/falling from their balconies at his high-rise apartment complex.

A caller named Susan explained to George that she has figured out how to land on her feet in her falling dreams by holding out her arms and spinning like a helicopter. In his dream, Gary from Loma Linda, California said he fell from a cliff, bounced on the ground and up into the air, where he began to fly.

Near the end of the second hour, George talked briefly with former NASA employee Ken Johnston. According to Johnston, he has been pressured to resign from his volunteer position at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory because of his contributions to Dark Mission, a new book by Richard C. Hoagland and Mike Bara that purportedly chronicles the secret history of NASA.

The final hour of the program was a replay from 2/2/07 featuring 'doppelganger' calls.

Heeeere's Ed!

In the first hour, George spoke with legendary television personality Ed McMahon. Known for his role as Johnny Carson's sidekick on "The Tonight Show" and host of the long-running talent competition "Star Search," McMahon shared stories from his vast entertainment career as well as his new book, When Television Was Young.
