Return to Roswell

About the show

Appearing on the show was flight surgeon Jesse Marcel Jr., the son of Jesse Marcel, the military officer who described the Roswell debris as having been "not made on this earth." He was joined by longtime UFO researcher Stanton Friedman, who shared his expertise on the Roswell subject.

Marcel Jr. recounted the night in July 1947, when he was 11-years old and his father woke him and his mother up to show them pieces of the UFO wreckage that he laid out on the floor. He saw tin foil-like material, but what particularly grabbed his attention were metallic I-beams that were 12-18 inches long. The beams, said Marcel Jr., had geometric-like symbols etched on their inner surface in a purple-violet hue that shined in the reflected light. The symbol that made the biggest impression on him looked like a ball over a "truncated pyramid."

Before he died in 1986, Jesse Marcel told his son there were no remains at the crash site-- "they vacuumed the place up." Marcel Jr. believes that what took place in July 1947 was indeed the crash of an extraterrestrial vehicle.

One of the topics covered in Jesse Marcel Jr.'s book The Roswell Legacy is the photo-analysis of the telegram that General Ramey is seen holding in the weather balloon "cover-up story" photo. Photography expert David Rudiak enlarged the photo and was able to read the text in the telegram, which included phrases such as "victims of the wreck." For more, click here.
