Afterlife & the Paranormal

About the show

Philosopher and author Michael Grosso discussed the evidence for life after death, which he has collected from various reports and accounts. The survival of consciousness beyond the bodily existence may be connected to an array of other paranormal phenomena, he suggested. For instance, he noted that descriptions of alien encounters overlap with reports of ghosts and afterlife (walking through walls, glowing lights etc.).

Grosso shared his own disturbing encounter with an "intruder" ghost that haunted a home. He said it briefly paralyzed him before releasing him from his grip. The wide ranging spectrum of paranormal experiences, Grosso believes, is indicative of a larger system that we don't fully understand.

Hospice workers have found that people with a spiritual perspective tend to have "good deaths," in that their last hours are meaningful and a positive experience, he reported. Some spiritually evolved individuals, such as certain Buddhists, are even able to control the moment of their death, instead of the typical "resisting," Grosso added. The final hour of this program was devoted to callers sharing their ghost stories on Open Lines.
