The Oil Crash

About the show

Matt Savinar, the author and administrator of Life After the Oil Crash.net, detailed how worldwide oil production will peak in our near future. The data he has accumulated about "peak oil" is backed by geologists and petroleum engineers, he said.

On the downside of the peak, which Savinar speculated could occur as early as 2007, oil will become so expensive it will no longer be a resource, he said. Outlining a bleak future where oil and food costs will skyrocket, he foresees the US heading into a deep economic depression. Depopulation will also occur as resources go down, he added. Savinar was not bullish on alternative energy, calling such options as hydrogen, a "myth," and highly impractical for replacing the current oil and gas structure, though he did say a "trash into gas" technique called thermal depolymerization showed some promise.

The X Conference:

First hour guests Richard Hoagland of Enterprise Mission and political activist Stephen Bassett discussed the upcoming X-Conference. Bassett, who is organizing the "exopolitics" gathering which has the theme of extraterrestrial disclosure, said it's "not about what's in the skies but the lies on the ground."
