Leigh (pronounced Lay) Thompson is a world-famous expert on poisoning and bioterrorism with three doctors degrees. He first became a pharmacologist, studying effects of drugs and chemicals. Then he became an internist and built three of the first intensive care units in the world. In the ICU, many patients arrived because of poisoning and using his knowledge of pharmacology he studied new ways of treating them. He also has run diagnostic laboratories to detect poisoning and was Chief Scientific Officer of the drug company, Eli Lilly and Company, helping develop drugs such as Prozac and Evista. Now he lectures and consults worldwide on medicine and drugs as well as poisoning and bioterrorism.
