John Farmer started life in law enforcement and loss prevention with over 12 years experience working with witnesses, evidence and video analysis. He returned to college in the early 90's to study mathematics and graduated from Bainbridge College in South Georgia. John worked for Amoco Oil Company in operations management until the BP merger in 1999 and then as a statistical process control (SPC) engineer for DuPont Photomasks in Indiana. He is currently semi-retired as a SPC consultant and involved in local politics in Memphis, Tennessee. John won the Republican nomination for the Tennessee 8th District Congressional seat in 2006 and served as the token Republican candidate against long time incumbent John Tanner (TN-8). In addition, he founded the political action group, Blue Collar Republican (to serve the interests of working class voters.
