Biography:
Mike Dorsey is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, editor, and television producer, and has been a frequent collaborator with Dearly Departed Podcast host Scott Michaels for over a decade. Mike made the 2015 crime documentary Murder Rap: Inside the Biggie and Tupac Murders, which solved the murders of Biggie and Tupac with confessions taken directly from his exclusive access to the LAPD case files. Murder Rap led to the high-profile 2018 scripted series, Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G., on USA Network/Netflix. Most recently, he was producer and editor of the paranormal documentary Demon House, starring Zak Bagans from Ghost Adventures. Dorsey also went on to produce and edit a 2019 follow-up to that project for the Travel Channel called Demon House: The Lost Footage.
With Scott Michaels, Mike produced the quintessential Manson Family documentary The Six Degrees of Helter Skelter, which BuzzFeed readers named the 4th-scariest documentary ever made. His other documentaries include The Oyler House: Richard Neutra's Desert Retreat, about mid-century modern architecture in Southern California and the WWII film Lost Airmen of Buchenwald. Dorsey holds a degree in Marketing from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and is an active member of the Producers Guild of America.
