Born in San Bernardino, California and graduated from UC Berkeley, Christine Cosgrove worked as a reporter for United Press International in New York City, then returned to the Bay Area. After a stint as an editor at Parenting magazine, she turned to freelancing, specializing in health and medical stories for WebMD and Reuters Health. Currently, Chris works as a writer and editor at UC Berkeley. She is the co-author with Susan Cohen of "Normal at Any Cost: Tall Girls, Short Boys and the Medical Industry's Quest to Manipulate Height," a history of the use of hormones to alter height in children for social reasons.
