Tattooer Nick Ackman of Olympia, Washington started Blue Letter Books, an independent publishing company in 2013. Tattooing since 2001, Nick became interested in the history of his craft and began accumulating and compiling information and tattoo memorabilia-- a pursuit that will last the rest of his life. Focusing his research on the makers of the items he acquired, Nick is now combining images from his collection with related information in the form of books. The goal of these books is to keep the history of the great craft of tattooing alive, while at the same time providing a look at images and objects from tattooing’s past.
