Zombie Tales

About the show

During Friday night's Open Lines, George offered a "zombie hotline" for people who believe they've encountered the walking dead. Halfway through the calls, Richard C. Hoagland of Enterprise Mission provided an update on Space Shuttle Discovery as it successfully undocked from the International Space Station in preparation for its return trip to Earth.

Bigfoot & Swamp Ape

In the first half-hour, Bigfoot tracker Tom Biscardi discussed his quest to find Sasquatch. Currently encamped somewhere in northern California, Biscardi detailed some "big time action" in the area. He said two creatures reportedly ripped the chains off a couple goats and took them back to their lair, where the stolen goats were devoured. In another incident, a Bigfoot creature supposedly tossed large rocks/boulders at a woman's house. Biscardi is confident he will capture Bigfoot by Wednesday.

In the second half-hour, cryptozoologist Scott Marlowe talked about the Florida Swamp Ape, which he claims has been reported in the Sunshine State for hundreds of years. According to Marlowe, the Florida Swamp Ape is not a Bigfoot. He described the Swamp Ape as strong and muscular, standing seven feet tall (for males, females are shorter), and possessing reasonably high intelligence, as displayed in their tendency to migrate after game and based on weather. Marlowe even speculated that the creature could be taught to communicate with humans.

Marlowe believes there are literally tribes of Swamp Apes roaming the Florida peninsula, and hopes to find one during an academic expedition this summer.
