Information Warfare

About the show

Friday's guest, Newsmax columnist and the President of Softwar Consulting, Charles R. Smith discussed various threats to the US. Calling Osama bin Laden "a modern day Goldfinger," he suggested that one of bin Laden's goals was to make money through terrorism, via such things as transfer of funds and short trading on the market.

Smith commented that the transfer of US technology such as "radiation hardened chips," to China has increased their nuclear capabilities against us. "If they attack Taiwan they will most certainly attack the US simultaneously," Smith ventured, though he assessed that the conflict with China really came down to more of an "economic war."

30% of consumer items in the US are made in China, Smith said, and many of these products are actually made by China's massive number of political prisoners. Further, the profits from these clothes, toys etc. are used by the Chinese military to build more weapons. So in effect when Americans buy these products they are strengthening their enemy, Smith inferred.
