Dr. Geoffrey Marcy received a B. A. in Physics and Astronomy from UCLA, and a Ph. D. in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He was a Carnegie Fellow, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at San Francisco State University, and is currently Professor of Astronomy at University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Marcy's research has focused on the detection of extrasolar planets and brown dwarfs. He is currently participating in Berkeley's new Center for Integrative Planetary Science, designed to study the formation, geophysics, chemistry and evolution of planets.
