Prof. Robert M. Schoch discussed his latest work studying parapsychology and the paranormal. He looked at credible psychical research from the late 1800's through the 1930s, as well as more modern studies, and came to the conclusion there is solid evidence for the existence of paranormal abilities. These include mental abilities such as telepathy, clairvoyance, precognition, and mind over matter (psychokinesis).
There is ample evidence for telepathy or mind-to-mind interactions-- for example, sensing that something is wrong with a relative or loved one, and then later having it confirmed. Precognition, particularly of events in the immediate future, has been repeatedly demonstrated, he said, adding that psychokinesis on a micro-scale has been confirmed with mind effects on random number generators.
Animals, too, have demonstrated psi abilities, Schoch reported. A parrot was said to have demonstrated telepathy with his owner, while J. B. Rhine studied a horse that had telepathic skills. Interestingly, anticipatory behavior on the part of animals, as well as humans, is correlated with geomagnetic factors, Schoch noted.
A Medium's Experience
First hour guest, medium Lisa Williams spoke about her experiences being able to communicate with spirits, which she developed at an early age. She uses clairvoyance, hearing a voice initially, and then tunes into the outline or apparition of the deceased person. Williams described her method of cleansing to remove negative energy or spirits. It involved burning sage such that the smoke goes into the corners of rooms, opening windows, and bathing with sea salt and baking soda added to the water.
