Henry Bauer is Austrian by birth, Australian by education, and American by choice. His career has been in universities, first as an electrochemist, then as a Dean of Arts & Sciences, and finally as an historian-sociologist-philosopher of science, a relatively new interdisciplinary field known as science studies . His special interest is anomalies and unorthodoxies: How can you tell whether some startling claim is rubbishy pseudo-science or the next scientific revolution? He's here to talk about HIV/AIDS, Loch Ness monsters, and other controversial matters.
