After he was punched, an Austrian man developed an odd cataract in the shape of a star in his eye. The energy of the blow apparently sent shock waves through the eye, disrupting the lens. As reported in the latest New England Journal of Medicine, the man underwent a treatment called "phacoemulsification," which uses sound waves to break up the opaque part of the lens. More here.
