A six-trillion-mile-long stretch of interstellar gas and dust resembling a caterpillar or tadpole has been spotted by Hubble. Located 4,500 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus, the protostar's unique shape has been sculpted by blasts of ultraviolet radiation from nearby extremely bright stars. Astronomers are interested to see what will emerge as the protostar continues collecting material from an envelope of gas surrounding it. More at Mail Online.
