Astronomers have imaged the collision of two ancient galaxies, which are now in the process of forming a mega-galaxy. The new elliptical-shaped galaxy will be 10 times the size of the Milky Way. Evidence suggests that other elliptical galaxies also formed this way. More at Space.com and Mail Online.
