With the Super Bowl only a few days away, zoos, farms, and sanctuaries across the country find themselves in the spotlight thanks to the odd annual tradition of eliciting a prediction for the big game from a creature with possible prognosticative powers. It's a nearly impossible task to collect every forecast that has been made from the vast array of animals weighing in on the forthcoming showdown between the Los Angeles Rams and the New England Patriots. That said, here are just a few predictions that have popped up online in just the past few days.
The most famous creature backing the Los Angeles Rams would have to be the famed hippo Fiona of the Cincinnati Zoo. Meanwhile, elephants from coast to coast have seemingly also cast their lot in with the team as the Honolulu Zoo's Vaigai as well as Bubbles of the Myrtle Beach Safari both indicated that they foresee victory for quarterback Jared Goff and company. It would seem that apes have also sided with the Rams based on the predictions of a Tal the orangutan who resides at North Dakota's Chahinkapa Zoo and the gorilla Saabmlili of the Dallas Zoo.
Lining up behind the New England Patriots is ZooMontana's resident grizzly bear Ozzy as well as a nearly-1,000-pound pig named Theo who lives on an animal sanctuary British Columbia. Perhaps the strangest trend among the predictions is that at least three different giraffes at zoos throughout the United States all gave the nod to the Tom Brady-led team. That includes Skye, who lives at the Des Moines' Blank Park Zoo, Congo, who resides at the Nashville Zoo, and even celebrity giraffe April. We'll let you come up with your own joke about how the long-necked creatures instinctively seemed to side with the team synonymous with the term 'Spygate.'
