The purported 2020 predictions from a legendary blind mystic in Bulgaria have begun circulating online as the year comes to a close, though the veracity of these alleged visions is dubious at best. Dubbed the 'Nostradamus of the Balkans,' Baba Vanga is often credited with having foreseen 9/11 and the 2005 tsunami in Indonesia by way of a series of prognostications that she is said to have issued before her death in 1996.
And, in what has become something of an odd annual tradition, every December sees a new set of the visionary's predictions for the forthcoming year pop up on the internet and quickly generate headlines. However, the question of whether or not Baba Vanga actually made these prognostications is very much in doubt as there appears to be no primary source for the mystic's alleged list of future events.
Be that as it may, it seems that Baba Vanga has once again somehow 'spoken' with a set of visions for 2020 that have been picked up by a variety of news outlets. For those keeping score at home, the mystic reportedly predicted an assassination attempt aimed at Vladimir Putin and a mysterious illness will cause Donald Trump to become deaf. If these predictions sound familiar, that's because the same two events were allegedly foretold by the blind mystic for 2019.
If that were not enough to inspire skepticism, her other predictions for next year, that Europe will collapse and that a meteorite will hit Russia, were also included in the late 2018 coverage of Baba Vanga's alleged vision for the new year. How and why the mystic's prognostications wound up seemingly being repeated this year is anyone's guess. At this point, perhaps the only certainty when it comes to the clairvoyant is that we'll be 'hearing' from her again at the end of 2020 whether her predictions were correct or not.
